I know you always wanted to visit Kashmir but for some or other reasons your plans are still in that “draft” mode right? Well, not anymore. Read along and I bet after introduction to this hidden gem, in one of the most picturesque locations in India, you are finally gonna pack your bags and take that long pending trip to the crown of India ” Kashmir ”!

Kashmir has been my dream destination for quite a while now and what say Inshallah! Finally this year I turned that dream into reality and look what I found 🙂

go here Just 2 hours away from the capital city of Srinagar – In the lap of Sonmarg is this Glamping Resort called AHSAN

Passing through Srinagar’s famous Dal lake, shikaras and houseboats, farms with apple and akhrot (walnut) trees and beautiful Heidi houses carved out of wood, also I could not help but notice that all Kashmiri houses flaunt fascinating huge windows, which is obvious I guess as who would want to miss the charm scattered all around;).

We were driving uphill for an hour and a half now, when I had this sudden desire to stop for a hot Kashmiri Kahwa, actually to be honest it was more of a desire to engulf the magnificent view of glaciers and vivacious Sindh river one sip at a time before heading to our final stop “Sonmarg’s main tourist point” (which obviously could wait for a while;)).

It was as if the mountains heard my thoughts and responded instantly! I could not believe my eyes when I first saw the camps from a distance. I asked the driver to immediately stop at the signboard that read “AHSAN”. Eventually, the place which looked like a cute camping eco resort set amidst the best views your eyes could ever witness turned into indeed a glamourous and luxury laden heaven! Trust me, I could not resist but take a sneak peek inside those beautiful tents that housed all the comforts any decent 4 star property would offer but obviously with an advantage that is second to none, Himalayan glaciers and Sindh flowing right in front!

I took a photo tour around, while we ordered snacks (Pakodas) that tasted heavenly with hot Kashmiri Kahwa or wait was it the heavenly view and the cozy climate casting a magical spell;). Whatever may be the reason but that short chai-pakoda break sure turned into a lifetime experience and it has become my reason to RETURN! I wish someone had told me about this GLAMP before I booked my stay in “just” another resort. That’s when I decided I won’t let the same happen to any other Kashmir traveler, so here it is, I give you your reason to GO!

You can find all that you need to know about this glamping resort from their website. Also, the staff there was extremely helpful and keen to answer all the queries that you might have. As I already mentioned the tents are loaded with all the 4 star comforts like a beautiful bed, a dressing table, satellite TV (you won’t need it though J), private verandah and sun beds, in-room clean bathroom with hot water shower and yes you can also enjoy bonfire with Sheesha (Just think about it) while gazing the stars which I guess is a good way to fine tune our crazy and mad city life once in a while. These guys can also arrange treks and rafting for you along with airport drop and pick-up on demand! There is no reason not to be HERE I guess so just FLY right away!

PS: All the views I am expressing about the resort are personal and genuine and I have not received any payments from the resort for the same. All I want is to share this amazing find with you all!

    1. I went in June this year, better go during Indian Summers when the snow is melting or has already melted! Best months would be April – November, will get pretty chilly after that?

  4. I’ve never been glamping but I’m keen to give it a go – I can’t believe this place even has verandas and sun beds! Too bad you had already booked another place to stay.

  5. I have never been to Kashmir in my 30 years in India. Sad, i know! But this Ahsan resort looks like really awesome place. I could spend the whole day just sitting on that chair besides river and drinking kahwa.
